We have been so busy ......
This year has been careering by at the speed of light, and at the Camera Club we are still wondering where it has gone !
We have had many interesting speakers at our monthly meetings covering topics from Flash photography, how to improve our bird photography and an awesome presentation on fungi photography that left everyone inspired :-)
As usual the camera club was the co-coordinator for the photography competition at the Grafton show and the pavilion was filled to capacity with 170 entries from the young and old. There was a special photo slide show presentation of old photos taken at the show in years gone by, made possible with the assistance of Maree Brown which brought back many memories from show goers.
The annual Northern Zone Convention for all northern region camera clubs was held in Kempsey this year and a group of about 13 Grafton members attended. This is always a great weekend with interesting and thought provoking speakers and this years conference didn't disappoint. The theme for the entries was "A Country Life" which produced some great entries. In the open sections, some of our members did well with Phillip Lowres placing 2nd in the monochrome print section. it was a great weekend away that involved an off the beaten track expedition, catching up with friends, dining out, night photography, dawn photography by some - sleep by others :-), learning and fun. Oh and a little bit of shopping :-) This was the most members we have had attend a conference for a long time and we all enjoyed it.
NEXT YEAR THE CONFERENCE WILL BE HELD IN GRAFTON SO KEEP A LOOKOUT FOR MORE INFORMATION
